Biography The Souldiers
The Amsterdam band The Souldiers plays soul and New Orleans funk, mixing it with roots rock, blues and folk. The band is founded in 2005 by drummer Joost van Dijck and his singing sisters Cato and Sofie. The Souldiers perform obscure rhythm & blues cover repertoire at the travelling theater festival De Parade for a number of years. In 2008 the musicians do a three week tour of the American North-West, peaking at the Portland Blues Festival. In December 2009 they start out on a three month tour of Japan, New Zealand and California. Between 31 May and 9 June 2010 The Souldiers is the house band for the popular cultural TV talk show De Wereld Draait Door every last Friday of the month. Their first EP Fuel For Fire contains original material, and is released by music connoisseur Leo Blokhuis and actress/singer Ricky Koole's Coolhouse Records.
