Spargo is formed.

1979

American singer Lilian Day-Jackson joins Spargo.

1980

The single You and Me is recorded. It becomes a huge hit both in the Netherlands and abroad. Spargo is awarded a Zilveren 'Silver' Harp music award.

1981

Spargo The album Good Time Spirit is released, but the album is less successful than expected. The group does score another hit record with the song One Night Affair.

1982

Spargo signs to Polydor and releases the album Hold On. The song Hip Hap Hop reaches number five in the Dutch charts. Two other singles taken from the album only dent the charts.

1983

Spargo releases two more singles but finds it hard to equal their earlier successes: Lady reaches number 15 and Do You Like Me reaches number 26.

1984

The single I'm In Love is released, but fails to impress.

1985 - 1988

Spargo splits up. Jackson moves back Stateside and starts a solo career. Driessen releases the album When The Night Begins in 1988.

1997

Spargo Spargo reunites, You and Me is re-released and a new single comes out: Indestructible. The song fails to make any impact however.

2000

Dutch singer Linda Wagenmakers reaches the thirteenth place at the Eurovision Song Contest with the Ellert Driessen song No Goodbyes.

Spargo performs at The Reflex Of The 80's festival in the Ahoy in Rotterdam.

2003

Spargo's line up consists of Ellert Driessen, Lilian D. Jackson, Larry Jackson (percussion), Leander Lammertink, Ruud Mulder and Gerald Olieberg (bass).
