Biography Nicotine

Nicotine is one of many bands that has risen out of the ashes of Dutch p-funk band Gotcha!

Nicotine is formed by Rockattack Ten, Kid Crash, Brother "R" Cazmo and DJ Moola.

The first single is Snap Out Of It and is released on the independent label Freestyle Records.

Nicotine tours with Postmen and E-life and the group's debut album, Double Penetration, is released.

E-life Postmen

Rockattack Ten leaves the band. Kid Crash, rapper Pete Philly and singer Senna take over the vocals. Nicotine works on a new album with producer Fabian and also goes on tour with several former Gotcha! members.

The album Bonobo Politics comes out on the band's own Double A Music label. Brainpower, Gotcha!, Pete Philly, Senna, K'RIZZ-MA, Darren Lorenzo, Marc Sokpolie (Track Addicts) and Rollarock (Postmen) all make guest appearances on the album.

Due to rave reviews about Bonobo Politics, Nicotine is on the bill of some renowned festivals like Noorderslag, North Sea Jazz and Artquake. Moreover Nicotine supports Cypress Hill. Fabian and Kid Crash return to the studio to cut a new album, while Pete Philly and Senna focus on their own projects.

Nicotine In conjunction with Nicotine and Art Officials, rappers Yes-R (Ali B's cousin), Riza and Ninthe record the track Actueel (Vandaag) [Up To Date (Today)']. It is meant as a positive view on Muslims. Nicotine signs a deal with Universal. In May Double A Funk, out on vinyl, is the first single under the new deal.

Nicotine and fellow Haarlem citizens TrackAddicts close a joint venture with CMG/WEFUNK. CMG (aka The C-Music Group) is the new label of Barbarella Bishop and Michael 'Clip' Payne who have worked with bands such as Parliament and George Clinton's Funkadelic. In the fall CMG puts a sampler online featuring tracks of Nicotine, TrackAddicts, George Clinton and Wayne Kounty. The sampler is also distributed at the annual CMJ Music Marathon in New York in November.
