Musical education

Compositions
Being interested in clear form and structure Gerard Beljon tries to translate some of these qualities into his own music. Apart from that he is also interested in pop and world music. Rhythm is also an important element in his work. Many of his compositions were written for ensembles and soloists such as the Calefax Reed Quintet, the pianist Ralph van Raat, the Nederlands Kamerkoor, the Nieuw Ensemble, among others. He wrote music for theatre and an opera for children.
