1984 - 2004

Eva Simons (Amsterdam, April 27 1984) is part of a musical family. Her grandfather is the renowned accordion player Johnny Meijer and her mother Ingrid Simons is a respected background and session singer. Simons’ voice can be heard on the singles I Believe In Love (2001) and I Want You Back (2003) by Cooper, a dance act produced by Klubbheads, and on the single Don't Stop (2004) by producer John Marks. In 2004 the singer is one of the contestants on the television program Popstars - The Rivals, a talent show broadcast by RTL 4 in which a boy band and girl band compete for a number one spot around Christmas. Boy band Men2b wins the contest, but the single Plaything by Eva Simons with girl band Raffish eventually scores better.

2005 - 2009

Simons starts writing and producing her own songs. In 2009 she performs backing vocals in television programs X Factor and Dancing With The Stars. Her song Silly Boy, written together with Mike Hamilton and Tierce Alec-John Person (a.k.a. Kizzo), gets more than ten million views on YouTube. One of the reasons for this huge amount of viewers is the rumour the song might be the new single of Rihanna together with Lady Gaga. In July 2009 Simons signs a World wide contract with EMI.

2010 - 2012

August 2010 sees the release of Take Over Control, made by producer and DJ Afrojack, written together with Eva Simons and Mike Hamilton and containing vocals by Simons. Take Over Control gets played by DJ's Annie Mac and Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Like Silly Boy the video gets ten million views on YouTube. The single reaches the 24th spot in the British charts. After the release of her own single I Don't Like You Eva Simons’ vocals can be heard on This Is Love, a single by American rapper Will.i.am. The video is made in London with prominent shots of the Tower Bridge. In June 2012 This Is Love reaches the top of the British charts. Simons does an extensive tour across the United States, sometimes performing the opening of gigs by rap duo LMFAO. In July she performs on the American television shows America's Got Talent and Live With Kelly. In July the single I Don’t Like You reaches the top of the Dance/Club Play Songs, the most popular songs played in US dance clubs, compiled from reports from a national sample of club DJs and published by Billboard.com.
