Biography E-life
Ex-Dope Syndicate rapper who launches a very successful solo career.
1995
After the split of Rotterdam's Dope Syndicate DJ Raw Deal goes to America, while E-Life focuses on his solo career. He performs all over Europe as one of the best Dutch rappers.
1996
E-Life makes his solo debut with the single Stacked With Honors, which is regarded as an underground classic. Postmen-rapper The Anonymous Mis is credited as guest musician. The video is aired on MTV.
1997
E-Life shares the stage with big names such as LL Cool J, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Black Street and Run DMC. He is also nominated for a TMF Award this year.
1998
In August, two years after his debut, E-Life's second single is More Days To Come, which reaches the top 10 of both the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 100.
1999
The single I Wonder Why is released on urban/hiphop-label Jive and co-produced by Postmen's Anonymous Mis. E-Life plays at the Beachpop festival in June.
2000
Together with Def Rhymz and Rollarocka from Postmen among others, E-Life joins the Social Life Party Tour. This tour visits several Dutch refugee centres in order to establish a better contact between young Dutch people and the political refugees who have come to The Netherlands.
2001
For the Marlboro Flashbacks Tour E-Life plays various songs from the history of hiphop. In April he signs a new contract with Edel Records.
2002
E-life and his band are the house band in the Kevin Masters talk show on commercial TV station Yorin. Due to a simultaneous international release, the release of his new album E=MC2 is postponed to August. Spearhead's Michael Franti is featured on the track My Love. Members of Postmen also contribute to the set. E-Life plays at Pinkpop.
