1996 - 1998

DJ Jurgen releases his first house records, but he isn't very successful. He meets the production team Pronti & Kalmani who work with Wessel van Diepen, the mastermind behind the Vengaboys. They start making songs that DJ Jurgen plays during his set at the Escape club. Most requested song is the single Better Off Alone, which is also released under the name of Alice Deejay.

Better Off Alone enters the Dutch Mega Top 100 and the Top 40 and reaches number 3 in the Dance Trends Top 30. It becomes Top 10 in many European countries. In the UK charts it peaks at number 2. DJ Jurgen works as a DJ in the Escape club in Amsterdam and in club Asta in The Hague.

2000 - 2004

The EP Higher And Higher (Remixes) from 2000 contains remixes by Dutch Force (Benno De Goeij) and Magica. The 12" One Step Away comes out in 2002 on the Mo' Bizz label. In the Compiled & Mixed sampler series both Volume 2 and Volume 3 come out. Jurgen provides remixes for UK band Dubstar (Friday Night, 2000), Nagano All Stars (Push It To The Limit, 2000), The Groovaholic's (Wake Up The Funk, 2000), Bas Kunnen (Desire, 2004) and Candee Jay (Back For Me, 2005).

After a few studio-less years the EP Wicked Waves comes out on the Yakuza label. De 12" contains a remix by Italy's T4L. BBC Radio 1's DJ Dave Pearce, who spins the track on his radio show Dance Anthems at the Beeb, picks up wicked Waves. Additionally, he spins it at the Syndicate in Blackpool. As of August DJ Jurgen and Marjolein Visser co-host Wake Up Fresh, the morning show at commercial radio station Fresh FM.
