Trijntje and her brother Tjeerd Oosterhuis have been performing from early childhood.

They have been making their own music since high school. Trijntje joins Candy Dulfer and her band.

1996

Total Touch's debut single Touch Me There is released in February and reaches number 13 in the Dutch charts. Their debut album Total Touch is released the following month and becomes platinum. The single Somebody Else's Lover reaches number 3 in the charts and becomes gold. The band's third single, One Moment Your Mind, also enters the top 3. The band performs at the renowned North Sea Jazz Festival and Trijntje has a solo hit with a Dutch song called De Zee ('The Sea'). In September and October Total Touch is support act for Michael Jackson in Amsterdam.

The album Total Touch is released in several European countries and in Canada and Japan.

1998

The single I'll Say Goodbye is released followed by the band's second album This Way. The second single taken from the album is Love Me In Slowmotion. Another track, Doo Be La Dee, is released in the US. Remixed by the likes of Mark Pitchiotti and Frankie Knuckles, it enters Billboard's Latin charts. Tjeerd writes the song Vlieg Met Me Mee ('Come Fly With Me') for the Dutch film Abeltje, which is released on single and sung by Trijntje.

Despite their efforts Total Touch does not manage to make it big outside of The Netherlands and Trijntje and Tjeerd decide to split up for a while. Both work on solo projects and Trijntje performs with Herbie Hancock at the 24th edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Former Kane drummer Cyril Directie joins Total Touch.

2002

In March Trijntje embarks on a theatre tour with jazz pianist Michiel Borstlap. She signs a multiple album solo deal with EMI. Her solo career doesn't really come as a surprise after a string of solo performances.

2003

In the spring the sampler The Best Of Total Touch is released on both CD and DVD.

2004

Tjeerd Oosterhuis records the soundtrack for the film Feestje! ('Let's Party!') by Ruud van Hemert. Especially for charity organisation Memisa Oosterhuis composes music for a benefit concert for Bangladesh. On November 28 the music is performed, featuring singers Karin Bloemen and Edsilia Rombley.
