1989 - 2003

Tim Knol is born in Hoorn on 12 September 1989. He grows up listening to his father's record collection and starts playing covers by Steve Earle, John Hiatt and Gram Parsons at the age of 10.

2004 - 2007

With some friends Knol starts the band BeRightBack. They perform in the north of the province of North Holland, win the talent competitions Blokpop and Live In Obdam and in 2006 they record their first demo. In addition to BeRightBack Tim Knol is also involved in other musical projects, and he is writing solo material.

2008

BeRightBack takes part in the SENA Performers POPnl Award and contributes the song Uselessness Of War to the accompanying compilation CD. In May 2008 Tim Knol performs solo at De Avond Van Het Kippenvel at the Utrecht Ekko. This time he is accompanied by Do-The-Undo, guitarist Anne Soldaat's band. Knol and Soldaat keep in contact and at the incentive of Ferry Roseboom (Excelsior Recordings) they decide to record some demos. Knol studies at the Utrecht Herman Brood Academie.

2009

In May Tim Knol leaves his band BeRightBack. In the summer he records his debut album at Frans Hagenaars' Studio Sound Enterprise, with the help Johan's Jacob de Greeuw and Jeroen Kleijn and Do-The-Undo's Anne Soldaat and Reyer Zwart. Matthijs van Duijvenbode (Johan) is the co-writer on some of the songs. At the Lowlands festival Knol signs with Excelsior Recordings. In the second half of the year he is the support act to the band Johan for their farewell tour of the Netherlands.

2010

Tim Knol makes quite an impression at the Groningen festivals Eurosonic and Noorderslag. On 22 January his eponymous debut album is released. The CD enters the Album Top 100 at number 12. Live Tim Knol is accompanied by drummer Kees Schaper (BeRightBack), bassist Jeroen Overman, guitarist Anne Soldaat and keyboardist Matthijs van Duijvenbode. On Whitmonday Tim Knol and his band perform as headliner at the Grote Zaal (main hall) of the Amsterdam Paradiso. The extensive Dutch tour takes the singer to the Rotterdam Metropolis festival (4 July), the Zwarte Cross (18 July), Lowlands (late August), Oerol and De Parade. In September his debut album is released in Germany. On 3 October Tim Knol is awarded an Edison (Dutch Grammy) in the category Best New Act for his debut album at a gala night at the Rotterdam Beurs-World Trade Center. In November a new edition of his debut album is released, with the bonus album Music In My Room, containing acoustic songs Tim Knol recorded in 1 day and in 1 take. Knol and his band record a second album on the isle of Vlieland, which is scheduled for release in the spring of 2011.
