Biography The Rosenberg Trio
Gipsy jazz trio that is formed in the late '80s.
1989
The Rosenberg Trio is formed by three musical cousins: Stochelo, Nous'che and Nonnie.
1990
The album Seresta is released.
1991
The Rosenberg Trio records the album Gipsy Summer.
1992
Stochelo Rosenberg receives the 'the golden guitar' award from Guitarist magazine. The Rosenberg Trio receives an Edison Music Award for their CD Gipsy Summer and they also perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In August they record Impressions.
1993
Their show at the North Sea Jazz Festival is released on CD. The Rosenberg Trio performs in the Carnegie Hall in New York on the occasion of the 85th birthday of the French violinist and pianist Stephane Grappelli.
1994
The trio goes into the studio to record their fourth studio album Caravan. The Carnegie Hall show is released on CD.
1995
Gipsy Swing comes out.
1996
The Rosenberg Trio goes on tour with a big band.
1997
The trio plays with jazz musicians Lils Macintosh, The Beets Brothers and the Stylus Horns II. Added to their discography is the album Django Collection.
1998
Between January and April the Rosenberg Trio records the album Noches Calientes. 2 The Night and Querer are released on single.
1999
The Rosenberg Trio receives an Edison Music Award for Noches Calientes. In September the album Je Zoenen Zijn Zoeter ('Your Kisses Are Sweeter'), which they recorded with Dutch artist Herman van Veen is released. The foursome goes on a tour of Luxemburg, Germany, Belgium, France and China. In December they play two shows in New York.
2000
The Rosenberg Trio receives a royal honour. Stochelo records the album Elégance with Dorado Schmitt, Birelli Lagrene and Romane. The Rosenberg Trio goes into the studio to record a new album.
2001
Sueños Gitanos is released. In March the trio goes on tour with Dutch pianist Louis van Dijk. In 2002 The Rosenbergs release an anthology, a double CD consisting of the best tracks from the six albums they cut since 1990.

2002
Het Beste Van The Rosenberg Trio ('The Best of….') 2CD is released.
2003
The album Live marks a collaboration with pianist Louis van Dijk. Apart from Django Reinhardt compositions, the album consists of takes on music by Toots Thielemans, Duke Ellington and Sonny Rollins. Another live album/DVD sees the light: Live in Samois - Tribute To Django Reinhardt. The album was recorded live in the French city Samois.
2004 - 2005
With jazz singer Denise Jannah the Rosenbergs play at the Anton Philipszaal in the Hague on May 20. In the summer the trio plays at various French festivals. Additionally, they play at the Hungarian Sziget festival in August.
2007
Stochelo Rosenberg contributes to the album Rendez Vous by Laura Fygi. Rosenberg and Romane perform in Europe (Luxembourg and Zürich).
2008
2008 is the 100th birth year of French violin player Stéphane Grappelli, founding member of the first all-strings jazzband. As a tribute to the violinist the Rosenberg Trio and violin player Tim Kliphuis release the album Tribute To Stéphane Grappelli. The Rosenberg Trio plays on the song Terras from the album Anders (Different) by singer Gerard van Maasakkers. In October the trio and pianist Cor Bakker release the album CorGoesGipsy. The Rosenberg Trio and the pianist also tour together.
