Biography Teach-In
Group from the east of The Netherlands that wins the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest with Ding-A-Dong.
1968 - 1969
Teach-In is formed.
1970
The group signs a deal with CBS.
1971
Their first single is released but doesn't do much.
1972 - 1973
The band's line-up undergoes some major changes.
1974
The band's new sound very much resembles that of ABBA. The single Fly Away becomes a big hit in the Benelux.
1975
1976
The single Rose Valley is Teach-In's first hit of the new year, but the constant touring and spending a lot of time in the studio, causes so much tension that they decide to quit. By the end of the year Teach-In enters the charts in a new line-up: Upside Down is the band's biggest hit so far. They are also successful in Russia with the song I Am Almost Alone.
1977
Not a very successful year: three singles fail to enter the charts.
1978
Teach-In has a top-5 hit with Dear John.
1979
The band changes its line-up yet again and the singles The Robot and Greenpeace enter the charts.
1980
Teach-In decides to throw in the towel when the new single Regrets fails to enter the charts.

2002
In the summer French girl group Models enjoys a local hit with a cover of Ding-A-Dong.
2006
Cartoonist Jean-Marc van Tol creates a cartoon version of Ding-A-Dong. The cartoon is part of Strips ('Cartoons') In Stereo, a book/CD consisting of 14 'cartoonised' Dutch language pop songs. The book is presented in Paradiso during the annual Book Week in March.
2007
Teach-In performs in the original line-up during a Dutch music festival on 31 August. The festival takes place simultaneously in Haarlem, Leeuwarden and Maastricht and is also broadcast live on Dutch TV. Teach-In performs in Maastricht.
