Trumpeter Gerard Kleijn (Wormerveer, 25 August 1964) and saxophonist Dick de Graaf (Nijkerk, 17 November 1954) start the Clazz Ensemble in 2007 to bridge the gap between jazz and (contemporary) composition. The small big band line-up therefore features musicians from both worlds. The musical directors also ask composers from both sectors to write repertoire for the group.
