Highly successful studio project by producer Jaap Eggermont, with which he scores several international hits.

1980

Producer Jaap Eggermont comes up with the idea to put together a medley of Beatles songs. The first single is released one day after John Lennon is murdered. Stars on 45 becomes a huge hit: it shoots to number one in both America and The Netherlands and in Britain it reaches the second spot.

Producers Jaap Eggermont en Martin Duiser receive the Dutch Export Price.

Next on Eggermont's Stars on 45 list are Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones.

The Stars On 45 formula seems to have come to an end. Shortly afterwards, however, Eggermont comes up with a new project: The Star Sisters, who sing a medley of Andrew Sisters classics.
