Biography Simon Pluister

Simon Pluister was born November 12, 1913, in the village of Obdam. He died on December 16, 1995. He took private composition lessons with Daniël Ruyneman. At the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music he studied composition with Hendrik Andriessen and Ernest W. Mulder, and piano with André Jurres. From 1956 to 1962 Pluister worked (under a pseudonym: Agricola, Dupont, Shamrock and G. Simon) as composer, arranger and conductor at the Concert Orchestra and the Radio Tivoli Orchestra of NCRV Radio in Hilversum. He also wrote for symphony orchestra, chamber music and for choir. His compositions are published by Donemus and the popular music by Sirius Verlag in Berlin.
