Biography Postmen
Band from Rotterdam that combines hiphop with roots reggae.
1993
Mis and G-Boah form Postmen. They take their name form the Burning Spear song African Postmen. The band is influenced by Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Rakim and Kool G Rap.
1994 - 1997
Docks Documents is released on 12". Live the duo is backed by reggae band Delidel Touch. They are signed by V2 and are support act for bands such as Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Onyx and Das EFX, and they tour Belgium, Germany, England, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the US. Rapper Shy Rock a.k.a. Rollarocka, joins the band.

1999
2000
With a cover of another Dutch band, Doe Maar, which they recorded with Def Rhymz, they climb to number three in the Dutch charts. The band signs a contract with Warner Benelux and release the single Victim.
2001
Revival, Postmen's second album, is released. In June the band plays at Pinkpop.
2003
In June Era, Postmen's long awaited third album comes out and is preceded by the single Long Time. The double A-sided single Not A Day also has two videos. At Lowlands they play the remix.
2005
On the fourth album Green Anouk sings most (backing) vocals. Due to disappointing sales the band moves from Warner Music to EMI. The release is postponed due to The Anonymous Mis and his family's emigration to the Ohio because of Anouk's musical career in the US. His departure marks the end of Postmen.
2006
In January G-Boah and Rotterdam-based rapper RMB release the EP Van Croos Tot Spangen ('From Croos To Spangen'). Rollarocka featured on Eigen Wereld ('Own World') by Opgezwolle. In February The Anonymous Mis changes the band name into Postman.
2008
Michael Parkinson signs a deal with the Rock 'N Vibes label. After the names Rollarocka and Shyrock now continues his solo career under the name Maikal X. Maikal X tours as a support act during the In Transit Tour of Ziggi between 20 September and 8 November.
