Biography Pierre Abbink Spaink

Pierre Abbink Spaink was born on April 24, 1931 in IJsselstein. He died on September 26, 2001 in Hilversum.


Education

He studied at the Utrecht Academy of Music with a.o. Karel Mengelberg, Kees van Baaren, Hein Kien, Theo Willemze, W. Kloppenburg (theory) and Anton Dresden (piano).


Activities

He taught piano for some time at the Eindhoven music school and theory at the Utrecht Conservatorium. In 1970 he was appointed teacher of theory at the music academy of Enschede and in 1972 also at the music academy in Hilversum.


Compositions

Rondo per organo was awarded an hounourable mention in 1970 for the Schnitger Prize (Zwolle). In commission of the Dutch government he composed Organum per organo.
