The Beau Hunks are named after a Laurel & Hardy film. The orchestra specializes in performing music from films by the comedy duo, composed by Leroy Shield (1893-1962) and Marvin Hatley (1905-1986). Assisted by researcher Piet Schreuders The Beau Hunks reconstruct and arrange scores for American films from the thirties, most notably those made by producer/director Hal Roach (1892-1992), known for his work with Laurel & Hardy, Harold Lloyd, Mack Sennett and The Little Rascals.
