In 1980 Fygi starts working on a professional singing career and she forms the group Terra.

Fygi achieves chart success and (inter)national fame with the girl group Centerfold.

Laura Fygi Laura Fygi forms the band The Backlot, but before the release of the first album Mercury offers her a solo contract. 'Introducing...Laura Fygi' is Fygi's first solo work. The album gets good reviews by the press and is awarded with an Edison Music Award. It is also a commercial success: it sells more than 50.000 copies in The Netherlands and over 70.000 in Japan.

1992

Laura Fygi In November Fygi releases her new album Bewitched with songs by Nat King Cole, Juliette Gréco and Johnny Griffin.

1994

Laura Fygi The album 'The Lady Wants To Know' has a Latin feel.

1995 - 1996

Laura Fygi 'Turn Out The Lamplight' is released in December. Fygi goes on tour in Japan where she performs 29 shows.

1997

Laura records the album Watch What Happens, which was produced and written the by French composer/arranger Michel Legrand.

1998

In an attempt to break the US market Fygi hires US television station PBS to film one of her concerts in Carré, Amsterdam, with Michel Legrand and broadcast it in the US. In October the concert is released on the CD 'Live'.

The album Change is released.

2003

Live At Ronnie Scott's, Laura Fygi second live album, comes out in May. The album was recorded in March 2002 in the legendary London jazz café. It shows her love for the American Song Book genre. On July 12 she plays at the North Sea Jazz festival.

2004

January sees the release of the DVD Laura Fygi Live At The North Sea Jazz. Laura Fygi contributes to What A Difference A Day Makes, a Unicef project in which various Dutch artists sing a song out of the Great American Songbook. €6,50 per retailed album will go to a Unicef-supervised charity project. With her backing band Fygi records The Very Best Time Of Year, a Christmas album with a Brazilian touch which is produced by Ruud Jacobs. The album is followed by a successful tour of Brazil.

2006

Laura Fygi singer celebrates her 15th anniversary as a solo artist.

2007

Laura Fygi Late April the album Rendez Vous is released, which is entirely sung in the French language. The CD includes compositions by Cole Porter, Django Reinhardt, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Thelonius Monk, Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller. Closing song on the album is Dansez Maintenant, a duet with singer Dave.
