Manila-born DJ/producer who uses influences from various other genres in his music.
1991 - 1994
Luke becomes interested in making music after finding out that it is also possible to do this on a computer (Amiga).
1994
Dobre - from The Goodmen - plays at Luke's high school graduation party and Luke gives him a demo.

1995
Luke is offered a record deal. He releases two albums on Dobre's Groove Alert label this year: Laidback Luke presents: Loud Flava Volume 1 & 2.
1996
Luke receives international recognition with his 12" Act The Fool. He continues his success with the release of his remix of The Stalker for Green Velvet on the Music Man label. This release comes to the attention of people like Carl Cox. This is also the year that Luke becomes a DJ himself.
1997
The year of his international breakthrough as a DJ. On Carl Cox's Fact II mix album he is mentioned as one of the new talents who have managed to combine house and techno music. Luke is also still busy as a producer with remixes for Moodymann, 4th Measure Men, Denki Groove and Victor Calderone.
1998
Following his international successes, he finally gets recognition from Dutch dance fans. He plays at parties like the HQ and Eye On The Future in Amsterdam and Planet Rose in Nijmegen. In the meantime Luke has started the production of his first album.
1999
Luke's breakthrough as a DJ in the Netherlands. Due to bookings on Awakenings (monthly techno parties in Amsterdam) he reaches a larger audience. He also performs at I Love Techno and the Dance Valley and Fast Forward festivals. In March the album Psyched-up, The Early Works comes out. Rocking With The Best is released as a limited edition.
2000
Luke starts work on his second album. During his DJ set on the Lowlands festival the video for Rocking With The Best is shot. He is asked by Superfunk to make a remix of their new single Last Dance. Luke also does the remix for Rocket Base by Jark Prongo, which will later be played by Sister Bliss and Fatboy Slim. He is invited by Junior Sanchez and Armand van Helden to come to New York.

2001
Luke makes his live debut at the Noorderslag festival. Rocking With The Best is released nationally. He is nominated three times for a Lucky Strike Dance Award in the categories: best producer, best techno/techhouse DJ and biggest breakthrough.
2002
The album Electronic Satisfaction comes out in June. Also released, is a remix of Crescendolls, a track by French dance formation Daft Punk.

2003
Under the name Riot Act Laidback Luke and Junior Sanchez release the single Understand Me in the US and the UK. Luke's own single Celebrate also comes out. On March 20 he plays the Opium Gardens at the Dance Valley festival. Laidback Luke, Ronald Molendijk, Joost van Bellen, Lemon8, Steve Rachmad and Aardvarck make a remix of the Matthäus Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach. In the first week of September Laidback Luke releases his first mix album, called Windmill Skill. The album is a complete live mix including his hit We Can Not Get Enough. To promote the album Laidback Luke tours the Dutch clubs. We Can Not Get Enough becomes Dance Valley Theme 2003. From September onwards Laidback Luke becomes house DJ at Nighttown in Rotterdam.

2004
On February 19 Laidback Luke is joined on stage by classical musicians at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam at the 'MTV Fusion.' The DJ mixes Oriental influences and classical samples, which he combines with classical music. Four days later the single More Than Special, the first release on Laidback Luke's very own label MixMash Records, comes out. Laidback Luke plays DJ sets in the UK - at Fatboy Slim's Big Beat Boutique at Turnmills and at the Homelands festival - Malta (Tribu) Japan and Denmark (Roskilde). He remixes tracks by Murk, Patrick Alavi, Steve Angello and Superchumbo. In November F*ck The Revolution, comes out, the second release on his MixMash label.
2005
Laidback Luke remixes the single Everything's Alright by Tilburg-based 'super group' The Original Soundtrack. Under the name Jahmirrahman Laidback Luke releases Jahmirrahman Part II 12" on the Mixmash label.

2006
In April Laidback Luke contributes to the Saint Matthew's Passion New Generation Remix 2006, a dance version of Johann Sebastian Bach's world famous music piece.
2007
Laidback Luke remixes tracks for Juice String, Dragonette, David Guetta, Tom Stephan and others. His adaptation of Do You Love Me by The Dominatorz enters the UK Cool Cuts Chart. In assignment of Roger Sanchez Laidback Luke records the mix album Afterdark Volume 3 which is released on Sanchez' label Stealth Records.
2008
In July the DJ performs at dance fest Sensation White 2008 in the Amsterdam ArenA. For UK dance magazine Mixmag, Laidback Luke compiles the mix album Ibiza Closing Party. His next release on the Stealth label is the mix record Stealth Live (November).
2009
The producer remixes the song Dance It Off by dance group Matik. It is the closing tracks on Matik's titleless debut album.
