1997 - 2000

In 1997 Kirsten records two songs for the Unsigned project by the Dutch Rock and Pop Institute. The songs appear on the album 'Characters'. On this album ten talented but unsigned singer/songwriters get an opportunity to present themselves. Kirsten records the songs 'For A While' and 'No Psycho', which will also be included on her debut album. After the release of 'Characters' several record companies show interest in Kirsten. Although she signs to Double T record company, it will take several years before the release of her debut album.

2001

With producer Rob van Donselaar Kirsten starts sessions for her debut album. With drummer Martijn Bosman and bass player Hein Offermans she records the basic tracks for the CD. Kirsten also supports artists like Ani DiFranco, Sheryl Crow and k's Choice.

2002

Kirsten is one of ten acts to win an Essent Award. In January she and her new band perform at the Noorderslag festival. Her full-length and critically acclaimed debut 'The Chick Singer' is preceded by the single 'No Psycho'.

2003 - 2004

Meticulously Kirsten is working on new material, starting off at ten in the morning everyday, and finishing off around six in the evening. Aided by a click track, she sings her songs, thus leaving Sander Baas to experiment with the results in his studio. This way she creates her second album Vanilla. In October the album is previewed by first single Maybe.

2005

Kirsten On January 22 Kirsten presents her second album Vanilla at the Patronaat club in her hometown Haarlem. In June she plays in support of her new album at Brussels' Botanique.

2006

As of October Kirsten is part of the tour De Avond van het Nederlandse Lied ('Evening of The Dutch-language song'). During the shows of singer Lotte van Dijck from duo Kirke, Kirsten plays guitar, recorder and piano.

2008

In April and May Kirsten is one of the people portrayed during the exhibition Femina Sancta (Holy Woman) from photographer/artist Ronald Schmets. The singer is one of the women who serve as a model for the 'timeless, mystical woman, who evokes admiration and sends out spiritual strength'.

2009

Kirsten is part of the backing band of singer Jozephine (Jozien van Dorst).
