Biography Jeanne Beyerman-Walraven

Jeanne Beyerman-Walraven was born on June 14, 1878 in Semarang, Indonesia. She died in Arnhem on September 20, 1969.


Education

She began piano lessons in Indonesia with her mother. She travelled to the Netherlands to study harmony and composition in The Hague with F.E.A. Koeberg. She married Dr. Th. Beyerman in 1911 and settled in Amsterdam, where she developed herself futher musically.


Compositions

Originally as a composer she followed more or less a traditional path but later, via French music and Schönberg's music, developed a more modern style.
