One of the first and leading hardcore/gabber acts. The first single Hocus Pocus ends up high in the European dance charts. In Italy the song even reaches top of the charts. The next single, Here's Johnny, is even more successful and tops the Australian charts for no less than six weeks.
The first 12"/CDS Hocus Pocus is released on Indisc when the group is still known as Vicious Delicious, but this is soon changed into Hocus Pocus. The track enters the European club charts and even hits the number one spot in Italy. On stage the band makes deep impression due to their heavy punk-like act and Kiss-like make-up. Other characteristics are fur coats that are smudged with red paint, a fibre-spitting act and the use of electronically amplified oil drums that are used for percussion. Especially in Italy they are very impressed by the group's performance because it's so very different compared to the slick and stylish dance groups the Italians are used to. During 1993 the band regularly performs in Germany (like Mayday in Berlin). Later that year the single Here's Johnny comes out and also shoots to the top of the European dance charts.
Things become quiet around Hocus Pocus. Especially the enormous success they have with Doop takes up much of their time. By the end of 1996 Hocus Pocus is revived after the tremendous success of Here's Johnny in Australia. Hocus Pocus goes on an extensive tour 'down under' and receives platinum for Here's Johnny. Back home Hocus Pocus starts recordings for debut album God Devil Hell Heaven, which is released early 1997 together with the single of the same name. Since that time nothing was ever heard from Hocus Pocus, but the group was never officially disbanded. Producers Ferry & Garnefski can revive the band any time they like.
