Caught in the Act hits the big time in Germany where they equal the popularity of Take That. In The Netherlands the producer duo is successful with the debut album by Dutch band Jazzpolitie. They also write and produce the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, the song Vrede ('Peace').
Fluitsma & Van Tijn also produce Henk Westbroek's second album Vrij ('Free').
Fluitsma & Van Tijn produce the Jazzpolitie's second album.
Two number 1 hits for the duo this year: Ademnood ('Gasping for air') by Linda, Roos and Jessica and (under the name Fluitsma & Van Tijn) 15 Miljoen Mensen ('15 Million People').
Edsilia Rombley wins the National Song Contest with the Fluitsma & Van Tijn composition Hemel en Aarde ('Heaven and Earth'). Rombley becomes number four at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ireland later this year.
Again Fluitsma & Van Tijn write a song for the Eurovision Song Contest, but their attempt is less successful than in 1998.
Fluitsma & Van Tijn contribute to the album 1 Voor Allen ('1 For All') by Dutch band Guus Meeuwis & Vagant.
The duo is credited as producers of the new Ruth Jacott album Tastbaar ('Tangible'). Van Tijn is member of the jury of Idols, the Dutch version of the popular television show that searches for new vocal talents.
18-year old half Dutch/half Moroccan singer Hind wins the bronze medal at the first final of the Dutch version of talent contest Idols. Fluitsma & Van Tijn produce her debut album Around The World.
The producer duo is involved in producing Rely On Me, the debut album by Idols winner Boris. Also they produce the single Heerlijk En Vrij ('Wonderful And Free') by Dutch-language nu soul singer Alain Clark and they are involved in the success of teen band Kus ('Kiss').
Fluitsma & Van Tijn plus Peter Groot Kormelink (De Jazzpolitie) co-write the single Geen Woorden ('No Words') for duo Zonder Twijfel ('No Doubt').
Fluitsma & Van Tijn produce the second album by Kus and the debut album by Raffaëla, the first ever female Idols winner.
The CD Supermercado is a collaboration by Fluitsma & Van Tijn and the small label Baileo Music Productions. The album features their own material and cover versions recorded with guest musicians including Madeline Bell (in Superstar by The Carpenters), Roger Happel (The Guitar Man), Tony Scott and Eric Vaarzon Morel. According to the press release the music is 'a mix of smooth jazz and trendy party music'. On 25 August Supermercado is performed live during a jazz festival at the Dorint Hotel on Schiphol East. As producers, composers and songwriters, Fluitsma & Van Tijn are involved in the Gamer, the 28th edition of Kinderen Voor Kinderen (Children for Children).

Once again Eric van Tijn is part of the X Factor jury. Fluitsma & Van Tijn are responsible for the musical supervision during two Danny de Munk show at the Heineken Music Hall in April. As producers and arrangers they work on the debut single of girl group and the album Lachen Is Gezond (Laughing Is Healthy), the 30th edition of Kinderen Voor Kinderen.
