Biography End of April

The members of nu metal band End Of April come from the Netherlands, Germany and the US. The band combines hardcore, metal and punkrock and releases its debut album If I Had A Bullet For Every One in 2004.

1999

Despite having sold over 100.000 albums the German/American/Dutch band HeadCrash breaks up. American singer Allen Wright (who lives in Cologne), and Dutchmen Otto van Alphen and Allard Zwemstra form End Of April. German drummer Marcus Weilleman (from punk rock outfit Spermbirds) becomes the band's second guitarist and Jusso Whistler (ex-Whistler Courbois Whistler) joins the band as their drummer.

2000

In the Yland studios in Amsterdam the six-track demo In My Arms Like Chains is recorded. The demo features an energetic mix of melodic hardcore punk, metal and industrial. End Of April plays 30 European shows, including the Sziget Pepsi Island festival in Budapest. During these shows over 2500 copies of the demo are sold. The track Remember The Daze is included on the compilation album Nu Metal 2000. Another track, 200%, ends up on the compilation album Unerhoert which is included with German music magazine Rockhard (60.000 copies).

2001

End Of April records a second demo with producer Phil Mills (Nerve) and tours the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.

2002

End Of April kicks off two short tours abroad: one of the Benelux countries with Italian band Linea 77 and one of France with Human Alert. The band signs to Seamiew Records, a label which specialises in nu metal. In October the band starts recordings for new material in the Pro Core studios in Troisdorf, Germany with producer Basti Volz. All previously recorded demo tracks are re-recorded and completed with new material.

The 18 tracks that have been recorded are divided over the EP Divided By Numbers and the album If I Had A Bullet For Every One. The band continues touring, especially in Austria and Germany.

2004

End of April If I Had A Bullet For Every One is presented on January 31 in the Melkweg club in Amsterdam. Following this release End Of April is planning to go on an extensive European tour, which includes the Benelux countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. In April Allen Wright leaves the band that is forced to cancel the remaining tour dates. Wright focuses on his bookings- and management bureau Go Down Believing, while Allard Zwemstra continues with Pimpersticker and Marcus Weillema tours with Spermbirds.
