Who exactly came up with the phrase Watskeburt?! (slang for 'What's Up? or: 'Wassup?') is unknown. Rap crew Opgezwolle first used the phrase in 2003 on their single Tjappies en Mammies. According to music website 3voor12.nl it is rapper Heistrocker from FTG who came up with the popular slogan. Rappers P. Dronq (Pepijn Lanen alias Pepijn von Bièreliér), Vieze Fur (Freddie Tratlehner alias Freddie van Nazareth) and Willie Wartaal (Olliçio Locadia alias Olliçio KoBoï Moderno) are part of Amsterdam hiphop crew De Spaarndammerbuurtkliek. Under the name De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig ('The Youth Of Today') they start using funny sounding words on the track Watskeburt?!. Producer Bastian is responsible for the music. They put an extensive version of the song on the Internet.
