Biography DJ Jean
One of Holland's most renowned house DJ and ambassador of Amsterdam's club iT.
1989
Winner of the Dutch mix and scratch championships.
1991
Jean starts playing house music at parties and in clubs.
1995 - 1901
He travels round the world to show his skills. He is also responsible for the compilation and production of various iT-albums.
1996
Jean starts working with producer Peran and almost immediately they score several club hits. Jean receives this year's prestigious Dance Update Award and he is also chosen as best club DJ in The Netherlands.
Peran
1997
The singles I'll Be Right There and Let Yourself Go do reasonably well in Europe. In The Netherlands Let Yourself Go climbs to number 29 in the charts.
1999
Again Jean receives the Dance Update Award. On Friday nights Jean has a regular DJ set at Club iT called MadHouse where he plays groovy house and clubtrance. Madhouse becomes the most popular club night in the Netherlands. In June, however, iT is forced close its doors because of drug-related problems. On Saturday nights Jean has his own radio show on Radio 538, a Dutch radio station (during Van Diepen's Dance Department). With the single The Launch DJ Jean reaches the number one spot in the Dutch charts.

The single Lift Me Up is released and co-produced by the Klubbheads. The single also includes a remix by Barthezz.
Bart Claessen
2002
The new mix CD by DJ Jean is called DJ Jean Madhouse Version 2002. For commercial dance/CHR-formatted radio station Radio 538 Jean deejays each Friday night from 23:00h-24:00h. His international DJ stints include Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Australia.
2003
On 27 August the single Supersounds comes out.
2004
DJ Jean plays at parties in Holland, Tenerife, Majorca, Kreta, Curaçao and Poland. In the summer he appears at Dance Valley. The album Madhouse Vol. 11 is released plus single Every Single Day.
2006
DJ Jean moves to Amsterdam. On 11 February he is one of the acts at Trance Energy in Utrecht.
2007
His full tour schedule includes shows in Colombia (January 3 at the U4 Love & Heat festival), Poland, Austria, France, Norway and China. By the end of March he folds down his Mad House programme on Radio 538.
