, for the first time. On October 6 Meens conducts the Westerkerk Choir and Orchestra. The following year he guest conducts the Amsterdam Bach Consort in Joseph Haydn's 'The Creation'. He sings the leading part in the opera 'Alzheimer' (2004) by Chiel Meijering. Meens is the jury chairman at the International Vocal Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch. In January 2009 he becomes the permanent conductor of the Choir of the Great Church in Monnickendam. Hein Meens dies unexpected on February 10.

David Porcelijn is a conductor and composer. For most of his conducting career, he has worked abroad, for example as the chief conductor of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Bernard Haitink is one of the best-known Dutch conductors of recent decades. His career is inextricably linked to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
