1993

Producer Cees van Leeuwen (Berdien Steinberg, Dolly Dots) holds auditions for a new boy band. Benjamin Boyce (born in London, son of a cellist and a piano teacher), Eloy de Jong (from Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, youth champion Latin American dance), Bastiaan Ragas (from Lisse, the Netherlands, involved in theatre group Up With People and star in the musical Jeans) and Lee Baxter (born in Liverpool, bred in Wales and educated at the Drama College in Guildford) are picked out.

1995

Hoesje van de single 'My arms keep missing you' (1995) Caught In The Act's first hit single is 'Love Is Everywhere'. Although they do not succeed in making it big in the Netherlands, they are all the more successful in Germany where they score one hit after another. Especially after having appeared in a popular German soap series their albums sell like hot cakes. Worldwide, Caught in the Act sells over four million CD's. They are immensely popular in Scandinavia, Australia, South-East Asia, Japan and South Africa.

1997

The boys have their first go at writing their own songs. They play piano and guitar, but on stage they perform with a tape.

1998

The single 'Baby Come Back', which is produced by the Berman Brothers, enters the German charts at number 10. In the summer Caught In The Act plays at several festivals in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In October they release their fourth album. Then the band breaks up.

2001

Ragas starts a solo career and gets the role of Radames in the musical 'Aïda'.

Benjamin Boyce writes the German hit single Melissa for Christian Anders.

2004

Boyce is one of the contenders on the German TV show Comeback, which pretty much is formatted along the same lines as TV hit Idols. The difference is that it is a talent show for 'has beens'. Other contenders include the likes of Coolio, Haddaway and The Weather Girls.
