Biography Caecilia Andriessen

Caecilia Andriessen, Hendrik Andriessen's youngest daughter, was born on February 12, 1931.


Education

She studied piano at the Royal Conservatorium of Music in the Hague with Léon Orthel and Jan de Man and organ with Adriaan Engels. She also plays the clavichord.


Activities

For many years she formed a duo with her brother, Louis Andriessen and performed throughout the Netherlands. She was piano teacher at the Foundation of Artistic Forming in Rotterdam; she was one of the first that focused on group lessons and has regularly given lectures on this subject.


Publications

For group piano lessons: Op weg naar het avontuur (voor het begin), Avonturieren op twee of meer klavieren and Groot avontuur (instrumentation for two and three pianos based on existing music). Additional scores include: Mini en Modern, (fifteen short piano pieces in old and new keys for the beginning amateur), Little things for open strings (for beginning violin student with an easy piano part), Easy pop (for piano) and Speelstukken (for accordion group lessons).
