Bas Kalle (January 31, 1977) was admitted to Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in 1995. He graduated in both Bachelor and Master degree and since that time he also works for the conservatoire. During his studies he worked together with, amongst others, one of the pioneers of electronic music in The Netherlands, Jan Boerman.
Activities
Besides composing electronic compositions, he also created realtime Physical Models for Max/MSP and developed the interfaces that were used to play the models. One of these interfaces was intended to be used for research on tactile feedback in combination with realtime Physical Models.
Compositions
After his studies Kalle continued creating new electronic compositions and sound-objects. Since then his works have been broadcasted by various radio stations and have been played and shown at for instance Korzo Theatre, Paradiso Amsterdam, Design Academy Eindhoven, The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, IRCAM (Centre Pompidou, Paris) and The Royal Conservatoire.
Prizes
From the jury of the Prix Ton Bruynèl 2005 Kalle received an honourable mention for the tape composition Drieluik 2002).
