Biography Annette Kruisbrink

Annette Kruisbrink was born on February 15, 1958 in Amsterdam.


Education

She studied guitar with Pieter van der Staak at the Conservatory of Music in Zwolle and graduated in 1983. She devoted herself to the flamenco guitar and the vihuela. She attended master classes with among others Leo Brouwer, John Duarte, John Mills and Toyohiko Satoh. In 1991 she obtained her certificate for piano tuner and technician. During 1991-1992 she studied composition with Alex Manassen and she followed master classes with Loek Dikker, Nigel Osborne and Claudio Prieto.


Activities

Kruisbrink gives recitals and master classes guitar guitar/composition in The Netherlands and abroad (Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Poland, Spain and Sweden). She performs as a soloist, with the ANIDO guitar duo and as a member of The Naildance Guitar Quartet. In 2000 she is appointed teacher for 20th and 21st century music and non-western music at the Conservatory of Music in Zwolle. She is co-founder and teacher at the guitar school Anido. She is frequently asked as a member of the jury at competitions for guitar and composition.


Compositions

Annette Kruisbrink has written more than 200 compositions of which a large amount has been published in a.o. The Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and the USA. She received many commissions.


Prizes

In 1991 she was awarded the first prize for 'Sgraffito' for chamber orchestra during the Seventh International Congress on Women in Music (Utrecht. In 1992 she won the second prize with 'Faon' for guitar and in 1994 the first prize for 'Homenaje a Andrés Segovia' for guitar in the composition contests organized by S.A.C.E.M. and C.M.A.C., Fort de France (Martinique). In 1998 she was awarded the second prize with '10 Miniaturas' for 4 guitars at the Second Concorso Internazionale di Composizione per Chitarra Classica "Michele Pittaluga" in Alessandria (Italy).
